Therapeutic Specialties

  • Perinatal Mental Health

Approximately 1 in 7 individuals experience significant depression or anxiety symptoms during the perinatal period. Common symptoms include sadness and depression, irritability and anger toward your partner, difficulty bonding with your baby, difficulty eating and sleeping, and/or feeling “out of control.” These feelings are common, but not normal. Evidence based treatments for postpartum mood and anxiety disorders include psychotherapy and peer support. With support you will feel better.

  • Fertility Counseling

Drawing on specialized training in the field of reproductive counseling, I support individuals and couples as they manage the complex psychological impact of infertility on their lives. I guide and support patients through the process every step of the way; from understanding what to expect at your first appointment to managing the dreaded “two week wait.” I am here to hold space for grief, joy, and all things between.

  • Intuitive Eating & Body Neutrality

Intuitive Eating is an anti-diet model which relies on eating with hunger and stopping with satiety. It rejects the paradigm that there are good foods and bad foods and that skinny equates to good/healthy and fat is bad/unhealthy. In partnership with nutritionists versed in this model, I work with patients who have complicated histories with food and body image. You do not need to meet the criteria for an eating disorder to benefit from therapy.

  • Life Transitions

We all navigate transitions throughout our life. Some transitions are planned, such as getting married. Others are triggered by external events such as the loss of a loved one or the diagnosis of a chronic health condition. Whether joyful or tragic, life transitions can disrupt your sense of safety and create uncertainty regarding the future. They can disrupt relationships and bring up old traumas. Therapy can provide much needed support and improve overall coping throughout life’s big and small changes.

Culturally Sensitive and Inclusive Treatment

No single identity defines an individual, rather we each hold multiple identities that intersect and inform how we relate to the world. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and xenophobia negatively impact mental health access and outcomes. My practice is welcoming to all and recognizes that we do not exist as individuals independent of society, culture and context.

“There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives.”

Trained and Passionate Care

My approach.

My approach is supportive, curious, and patient-driven with a splash of humor. Since therapy is not one size fits all, my approach is highly dependent on the client’s needs and preferences. My therapeutic influences include Psychodynamic, Relational, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I work in collaboration with you to develop meaningful goals and implement lasting change.

Make space for yourself.
